This is an easy recipe to make whenever you need a party snack. It can also be modified to your specific tastes. You can substitute the almonds and cherries for chocolate chips, pistachios or other goodies. These can also be cut into tiny bite size petit fours or larger bars to snack on.
Ingredients
Butter 405g
Brown Sugar 821g
Eggs 173g
Almond Extract 11g
All Purpose Flour 431g
Sliced Almonds 180g
Dried Cherries 300g
Instructions
1.In a small pot, place your butter over low heat, cook until completely melted. Set aside to cool.
2.Once your butter is no longer boiling hot. Place it in the bowl of a stand mixer with the brown sugar. With the paddle attachment, mix on low until completely combined.
3.Slowly add one egg at a time, allowing one to mix in before adding another. Turn off the mixer and scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl.
4.Turn the machine on again and mix smooth, add the almond extract.
5. Add in the salt, flour and cherries and almonds.. Mix uintil smooth.
6.Pour in a greased half-sheetpan.
7.Bake at 350F, low fan for 15minutes
